Content
Files you send to devices, kept for use offline.
Content sends files, such as exam papers, handbooks or lesson videos, to every device in a group. Devices keep them in the management app's private storage, so they can be opened without a connection and can't be copied off the device. Files are encrypted at rest.
Content reaches agent devices. Google-managed devices, personal phones and Windows devices don't receive it.
Uploading
Select Upload content and choose the file. It appears in the list with its version, whether it is encrypted at rest, and whether it is kept for offline use.
Sending it to devices
- Select Assign beside the file.
- Choose the Device group.
Every device in the group is told to sync its content. Devices that are offline collect it at their next check-in.
Checking it arrived
Select Status beside a file to see what each device reports holding as of its last check-in, and when it last updated. A device's own page shows the same under Content sync.
You can also schedule a content sync, for example to make sure every exam tablet holds the latest paper before 8 in the morning.
Who can manage content
Uploading and assigning content needs the Manage apps and content permission. Admins have it.
